For this project, I had the responsibility of creating my own version of a Hardcover book design from a selection of copyright free books. I wanted the design to reflect the feminine theme and delicateness of Emma, the main character.
My book cover incorporates delicate and thinly weighed illustrations of strawberries, vines, and flowers. Throughout the book and films, there is often strawberries seen at parties and picnic. As well as the sights and mentions of gardens and greenery.
On the left is the original cover in I created and vectorized in Adobe Illustrator and the image on the right is the final edited image in Adobe Photoshop with all the proper textures and effects.
For my mockup of the cover, I searched for one with a larger spine to reflect my design best. My second mockup is utilizing the textual layout I have created for the pages of the story.
This hardcover mockup was voted #1 in a class voting for the presentation of this project!
